Seventeen FAIR members, hailing from a total of nine African countries, will represent the African investigative journalism profession at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. The GIJC 2010 is to be held in that city between 22 and 25 april.

The GIJC 2010 organizing committee selected the participants, who all qualify for the high professional standard attached to this year's GIJC grants round, and who will all be either speakers or panelists at the conference, from a total of 60 African grant applications. CNN African TV news and TV features 2009 winner, John-Allan Namu, from Kenya, also received a grant to attend the conference.
